Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
Cosmetic surgery of the eyelids, or blepharoplasty, restores a natural, more youthful contour to the eyelids by removing excess skin and fat that cause a tired appearance.
Dr. Herman uses a variety of specialized techniques to refine and define the eyelids, including the removal or repositioning of fat pads and eyelid muscles to produce a natural youthful appearance to the eyelids.
Generally performed as an outpatient procedure, eyelid surgery is most commonly performed under local anesthesia with sedation.
You may engage in light activity the day after your surgery. Depending on any accompanying procedures, a return to more normal activity may take 1-2 weeks. Your appearance will gradually improve over the following 4-6 weeks.
Proper skincare and sun protection including sunglasses, are essential during healing.
Results can be long-term, turning back the clock on your appearance from 8 to 10 years. Natural aging will continue after your eyelid surgery.
